Font Specimen – Golia Sans
BA Design Warm-Up – Foundation Course
2019
semester
Golia is born from the elegant and tapered skeleton of the unmistakable Times New Roman: ancient, secular, graceful, light and eternal.
From here it develops its way, turning towards a more geometric direction, in a balanced fusion between the square, polygon par excellence, and the circle, perfect geometry.
Its curves slide sinuously along the letters, until they unexpectedly cut into what remains of the serif.
The result is a scientific, geometric and mathematical character, soft and sharp.
Golia takes shape during the first semester from the WUP project in the year 2019 at the Free University of Bozen/Bolzano.
