This illustration is full of meaning; here is represented the Kaiserjägerdenkmal build in 1917 dedicated to the imperial hunters (Kaiserjäger) that died during World War I, the Victory Monument was constructed in 1926-1927 and inaugurated by King Vittorio Emanuele III in 1928 to symbolize the victory of the fascists regime on the Austro-Hungarian empire. The black hand represents the fascists regime that it has imposed itself, in fact the Victory Monument has been built on top of what was constructed of the Kaiserjägerdenkmal.
