Armand Desaegher and Octave Aubecq were the designers of the pot. In 1925, they created a working prototype in France and Le Creuset was born.

The Le Creuset pot is a pot made entirely of cast iron and coated with a double layer of enamel that allows it to reach very high temperatures. This pan is one of the best known in the world both from the point of view of its resistance and its design as it can be found in many colours. Inspired by the vivid orange colour of the cast iron inside the moulds, Desaegher and Aubecq’s first vitrified shade was “volcanic orange”.

Chefs usually prefer cast iron pans, and le Creuset is still one of the most popular pans in the restaurant industry.
