Peanuts in Power

I love going to Asian food stores because there you can get products that are otherwise unavailable in normal supermarkets. While looking for an Asian store in Bolzano, I recently discovered an incredible network of international supermarkets. The community and mixture of cultures existing around these stores are fascinating. While visiting one of these great places recently, I realized that some products are perceived by different cultures in very divergent ways, and due to this cultural divergence, one is unable to realize that all cultures and countries -not only on an economic level- are strongly tied by food production. As you can imagine, the history of this interconnecting network is steeped in history.

In this project I discover the interconnecting history of the peanut.
