This project was inspired by the book “Botzen and its Neighbourhood” published in 1878 by the hotel keiserkrone in Bolzano. The book tells and describes the city of bolzano and what was around it at the time, like a tour guide.
The final design is a new version of the book that plays on the similarities and differences between the past and nowadays; comparing, in a visual way, with the tourist guides that are there now.
Since the book contains informations that are no longer useful (train timetables, carriages, etc.) I imagined it as a part of a stratification, of a sedimentary rock or of the rings of a tree trunk, that has formed over time. The box that contains the book represents this.
