Do you ever feel like you cannot change the perception others have of you? First impressions, retellings of retellings, and inconsequential observations completely change the picture strangers – or even people you know – have of you. Trying to get rid of this perception of yourself or change what one thinks of you is often impossible

like being caught in plastic packaging.

The process started by thinking about what image means to me – and the first thing i imagined was stereotypes and how one gets caught up. I started by sketching different things, researching on external image and ultimately experimenting with the behaviour of plastic foil. After taking reference pictures of myself and the the way plastic foil stretces on the skin. Combining all my references I transfered the idea onto canvas and then painted around it. To enhance the ide of the plastic foil I hung it up by using plastic.
