Frankfurter Küche – Margarete Schütte-Lihotzky, 1926, Germany
The Frankfurter Kitchen was designed by the architect Margarete Schütte-Lihotzky in 1926 for the project “New Frankfurt”. To be as practical as an industrial workspace the Frankfurter Kitchen com- bined both design and efficiency by optimizing the time needed for every step through the placement of certain kitchen elements. The Frankfurter Kitchen is considered to be the first model of the modern built-in kitchen.
