Racing wood. A workshop assignment
BA Design Warm-Up – Foundation Course

semester
My idea was to create a toy for children, so I designed a sports car with very simple and easily recognizable shapes. At the beginning I thought of creating a more complex object, with angular shapes and marked details, but since wood is a simple material to smooth, I chose to exploit this characteristic. I had a lot of fun following the process from the block of wood to the finished object. After creating the shape of the car, I cut the wheels, which could have two circumferences. Being a game for children, I was inspired by the HotWheels and I chose to put the bigger wheels behind to have the rear part raised and accentuate the sporty look of the car. The front wheels are instead of smaller circumference.
