The theme of our group project was the action of eating. After exploring this action in its various facets (where we eat, what , the meaning it takes on in different cultures, etc.), we decided to focus on eating out and specifically at restaurants. Among the typical tableware we focused on the cruet set, noting that for dozens of years now the set has consisted of only four spaces for oil, vinegar, salt and pepper, respectively. Depending on the cuisine served in the different places however, one may need other seasonings than the classic four, hence the idea of a cruet set that can be customized by the restaurant that wants to use it. We also thought of giving the object a useful shape to make it easily transportable in several units, so as to make it easier for waiters to arrange them on the tables.
