We picked white because we’re using the wall as a medium through which we want- ed to underline the action of disappearing. Indeed, to imitate others is to disappear, so if we paint ourselves the same color, we vanish and lose our own identity; but in the video, the main color is altered by a filter and not white anymore.

We decided to apply the filter to our footage, because we consider it stronger with it. The filter gives another layer to the performance, which can be better seen by altering the work’s colors.

The filter gives space for a wider interpretation of the artwork: we noticed that the mechanical movements our bodies do throughout the whole performance are sharper and more noticeable, such as the contrast between the “organic” substance we useto color our bodies and the robotic, mechanic movements our figures go through.

There is also a clearer connection between color and sound: the darkness empha- sizes the act of “disappearing into the void”.
