This artistic research deals with fossils. The aim is to visualize movement and change in nature and to express them through personal interpretation. The starting point for this work was two places in South Tyrol: the fossil-rich Bletterbach Geopark and the floating island in the Narauner Pond at the foot of the hill St. Hippolyt, one of the oldest human settlements in the region. This island became my obsession. During a two-week observation period, I captured its movement in a time-lapse video. Why does it move? How did it come into being? It becomes an inspiration and metaphor for travel and growth. The island and the fossils inspire the creation of sculptures: the island grows from the accumulation of natural remains. Analogously, the materials found in the studio are processed into objects and preserved with the help of a scanner. A series of digital imprints are created.
