Metamorphosis

Metamorphosis explores the messages that emanate from the presence of hickey and how social dynamics and perceptions change according to it. Its outcome is a series of photographs of female bodies depicted with geometrical patterns and positions, a choice that creates a contrast between the impulsive nature of a hickey, and the rationality of these thought out lines and dispositions.

Furthermore, the patterns on the bodies recall traditions of tattoo or scarification, that are closely tied with concepts of identity and its expression through skin.

Lastly, the project focuses on the notion passivity and opens up questions about passion and aggression, consent and coercion, passivity and activity.
