2021.1

broken VHS tape repair for poor people like me is a PUNK statement.

It derives from a process of exploration and discovery of the artistic and musical production of the Punk movement, the historical background, and the mass-media imagery between 1982 and 1992 in Venezuela. Starting from an analysis of the frame in which Punk developed in the southern American country, the research aimed to partly understand the melting-pot of events that brought to its rise. Also, it speculates what can PUNK aspire to be nowadays, keeping in mind the lessons of the past.

The main result of this process has been the definition of a new approach to creation. The rawness, instinctivity, and humanity of PUNKS’s energy and attitude are presented as a key to produce cultural devices in a contemporary context.

PUNK means not conforming to the established, questioning reality, building the unknown, and freeing the thought.
