Forme di complotto

Conspiracy theories aim at shaping other versions of the world in order to escape from the “official” one – the world created by standard information and news. The main paradox is that these theories, once secretly shared by an exclusive group, are nowadays spread through media that are also used to broadcast conventional narratives. Conspiracy theories are not mysterious secrets anymore. Instead, they are exposed for everyone to see.
The motivation of my research has been to discover which kind of new shape conspiracy theories have taken on nowadays through popular and mainstream culture.
The final project is proposed as a representation of the structure of these theories in a tangible way in the form of a set of diagrams which are then developed and communicated through a game. By attributing a code (colour, shape, dimension) to each element of the composition, the aim is to disassemble and reconstruct them, and vice versa. Moreover, the project seeks to underline that conspiracy theories belong to our world of communication: still ambiguous and built by human beings.

Le teorie del complotto mirano a formare nuove versioni della realtà, al fine di evadere da realtà considerate come “ufficiali” – create dalle informazioni e notizie standard. Il paradosso principale consiste nel fatto che queste teorie, un tempo condivise segretamente da un gruppo esclusivo, vengono oggigiorno diffuse attraverso gli stessi media utilizzati per divulgare narrative convenzionali. Le teorie del complotto non consistono più in segreti misteriosi. Al contrario, sono esposte agli occhi di tutti.
Le ragioni della mia ricerca si basano sulla scoperta delle nuove forme assunte dalle cospirazioni al giorno d’oggi, soprattutto grazie alla cultura pop e mainstream.
Il progetto finale si propone di rappresentare in modo tangibile le strutture delle teorie sotto forma di un insieme di diagrammi che sono poi sviluppati e comunicati attraverso un gioco. Attribuendo un codice (colore, forma, dimensione) ad ogni elemento della composizione, lo scopo è quello di smontare e ricostruire le teorie del complotto e viceversa. Il progetto mira inoltre a sottolineare il fatto che le teorie del complotto appartengano al nostro modo di comunicare: ambiguo e costruito dagli esseri umani.
