A light buoy is a compulsory life-saving accessory within three miles of the coast.

The instrument has multiple functions, in particular to signal the presence of a shipwrecked person in the water.

Sos Mediterranee is a voluntary organisation (VO) that rescues and accompanies dispersed migrants along the Central Mediterranean route.

During night rescues, the association’s workers use the light buoy in a variety of circumstances, however, the design of the tool does not correspond to the needs of the volunteers.

The purpose of the degree project is to design a new buoy light that can contribute positively to the difficult mission scenario, responding to rescuers’ requests.

The final luminous buoy will integrate with the marine environment, turning the light signal into a part of it, using water matter as a means of light diffusion.

An ergonomics study was carried out and made it possible to realise the ultimate object a practical ally for volunteers, proposing a moderately sized yet useful and resistant solution.

Eine Leuchtboje ist ein obligatorisches Hilfsmittel zur Rettung von Menschen in einem Umkreis von drei Meilen von der Küste.

Das Instrument hat mehrere Funktionen, insbesondere signalisiert es die Anwesenheit einer schiffbrüchigen Person im Wasser.

Sos Mediterranee ist eine Freiwilligenorganisation (VO), die versprengte Migranten entlang der zentralen Mittelmeerroute rettet und begleitet.

Bei nächtlichen Rettungsaktionen setzen die Mitarbeiter der Organisation die Leuchtboje unter verschiedenen Umständen ein, allerdings entspricht das Design des Geräts nicht den Bedürfnissen der Freiwilligen.

Ziel des Projekts ist es, eine neue Leuchtboje zu entwerfen, die einen positiven Beitrag zum schwierigen Einsatzszenario leisten kann und den Anforderungen der Retter gerecht wird.

Die endgültige Leuchtboje wird sich in die Meeresumwelt integrieren, indem sie das Lichtsignal zu einem Teil von ihr macht und die Wassermaterie als Mittel zur Lichtstreuung nutzt.

Es wurde eine Ergonomiestudie durchgeführt, die es ermöglichte, das ultimative Objekt als praktischen Verbündeten für die Freiwilligen zu verwirklichen, indem eine mittelgroße, aber nützliche und widerstandsfähige Lösung vorgeschlagen wurde.

La boa luminosa è un accessorio di salvataggio obbligatorio entro tre miglia dalla costa.

Lo strumento ha molteplici funzioni, in particolare quella di segnalare la presenza di un naufrago in acqua.

Sos Mediterranee è un’organizzazione di volontariato (OdV) che soccorre e accompagna i migranti dispersi lungo la rotta del Mediterraneo centrale.

Durante i salvataggi notturni, gli operatori dell’associazione utilizzano la boa luminosa in diverse circostanze, tuttavia il design dello strumento non corrisponde alle esigenze dei volontari.

Lo scopo del progetto di laurea è quello di realizzare una nuova boa luminosa che possa contribuire positivamente al difficile scenario delle missioni, rispondendo alle richieste dei soccorritori.

La boa luminosa finale si integrerà con l’ambiente marino, trasformando il segnale luminoso in una parte di esso, utilizzando la materia acquosa come mezzo di diffusione della luce.

Uno studio di ergonomia ha permesso di rendere l’oggetto finale un pratico alleato dei volontari, proponendo una soluzione di dimensioni contenute ma al contempo utile e resistente.
