2021.1

In contemporary society, a person works an average of 40 hours a week, which is about 25% of a person ‘s lifetime of seven days.

In recent decades, the concept of work has changed considerably in terms of both physical and psychological circumstances. From physically strenuous work on the own farm, to work in the first factories, to office work, and finally to a reviving work alternative – the home office. This very controversial working method promises more flexibility with a better work-life balance and office space savings and historically ties in with home working, but with different perspectives due to technological and economic achievements. However, especially in large cities with smaller flats, but sometimes also in rural housing situations, there is not enough space, let alone the right environment, to pursue this working method.

Due to the actuality, as well as personal interest, s‘ Stibile elaborates the concept of home office from different points of view. Based on a detailed analysis of the own environment in terms of working methods, design, architecture and the human condition, s‘ Stibile is considered a mobile office that concretely explores the possibilities of working in relation of space and environment. In particular, the different context of the past, present and future plays an important role.
