Many as female identifying, or as female perceived, people face gender-based street harassment in their life. Street harassment, also called cat calling, is a form
of gender violence. Cat calling affects women’s mental health, safety and daily decisions. It could take social, educational and professional opportunities from
them. Moreover, is a human rights violation. Street harassment limits women’s freedom of self-expression and access to public space. Unfortunately, there is
no time and space for the affected people to express themselves and to get vocal about the harassment. The tool kit provides the possibility to give a voice
to the affected people themselves and to listen to their experiences, worries, ideas, wishes and needs. Its aim is to create a safe and informative space to
inspire and create a conversation. It is an individual tool to use to start a collective conversation about street harassment. The visuals and expressions in the
Book are a representation of experiences, thoughts, wishes and needs of women around the topic of street harassment. They were created during the process of
developing the book and are a direct result of investigating the topic together with affected people.
