The transmission of sexist power structures begins at the latest with the start of a school career. Through a series of auditions for the remake of novels traditionally assigned as readings at school – such as “Homo Faber” by Max Frisch and “Faust” by Goethe -, the project “Strukturelle Beschaffenheiten 2” invites men of different generations to confront some excerpts from these famous works. The project relates the selected books to readers who are (usually) not negatively affected by sexist power structures due to their gender: men. What remains at the end is an open question: are these books suitable for the school context?
