Warming Up Kids. Laboratori per bambini: esplorando il processo di apprendimento creativo.

IT – Lo spazio Atelier del Reggio Children Approach è il simbolo dei cento linguaggi dei bambini, come luogo di ricerca e ambiente espressivo che promuove conoscenza e creatività; l’atelierista, molto spesso designer, è una figura che amalgama nuovi e molteplici linguaggi, proprio come durante i workshop, eventi che portano ad un apprendimento collettivo. Questi non sono e non devono essere lezioni, ma momenti di sviluppo per chi li tiene e per chi vi partecipa, individuando le possibilità di sperimentazione attraverso nuove didattiche e permettendo di crescere individualmente in un ambiente comune. Il progetto di tesi si sviluppa partendo da una ricerca approfondita proprio sugli atelier e sui laboratori per bambini. Il risultato di questa ricerca è stato in primo luogo un approccio metodologico sui laboratori sviluppato in tre punti chiave: spazio, materiali e dinamiche di interazione. Successivamente, sono stati creati tre workshop di comunicazione visiva per bambini seguendo i principi dell’approccio. Questi sono stati riuniti insieme con il nome di “Warming Up Kids”, richiamando sia il gesto tecnico del riscaldamento corporeo e mentale, che il concetto di global warming per le tematiche ambientali trattate nei workshop, e testati durante un evento laboratoriale. Infine, per restituire graficamente l’esperienza dell’evento, sono stati creati degli elaborati grafici di ogni workshop e un libro capace di dare forma all’esperienza collettiva dei laboratori, per archiviare il processo, restituirlo e rivolgersi a nuovi interlocutori. Al suo interno si trovano diversi contenuti: la parte teorica riguardante l’approccio, delle istruzioni per replicare i laboratori e delle foto dell’evento.

DE – Der Atelier des Reggio-Children-Approach ist ein Symbol für die hundert Sprachen der Kinder, ein Ort der Forschung und eine ausdrucksstarke Umgebung, die Wissen und Kreativität fördert; der Atelierista, sehr oft ein Designer, ist eine Figur, die neue und vielfältige Sprachen zusammenführt, mithilfe von Workshops und Veranstaltungen, die zu kollektivem Lernen führen. Es handelt sich dabei nicht um Lektionen, sondern um Momente der Entwicklung für diejenigen, die sie abhalten, und für diejenigen, die an ihnen teilnehmen, indem sie Möglichkeiten zum Experimentieren durch neue Didaktik aufzeigen und individuelles Wachstum in einem gemeinsamen Umfeld ermöglichen. Das Dissertationsprojekt entwickelte sich aus einer eingehenden Forschung über Ateliers und Workshops für Kinder. Das Ergebnis dieser Forschung war zunächst ein methodischer Ansatz für Workshops, der in drei Schlüsselbereichen gegliedert wurde: Raum, Materialien und Dynamik der Interaktion. Anschließend wurden drei Workshops zur visuellen Kommunikation für Kinder nach den Grundsätzen dieses Ansatzes entwickelt. Diese wurden unter dem Namen “Warming Up Kids” zusammengefasst, der sowohl an die technische Geste der Erwärmung von Körper und Geist als auch an das Konzept der globalen Erwärmung für die in den Workshops behandelten Umweltthemen erinnert, und während eines Workshop-Events getestet wird. Um schließlich die Erfahrung der Veranstaltung grafisch wiederzugeben, wurden Grafiken von jedem Workshop und ein Buch erstellt, das der kollektiven Erfahrung der Workshops Gestalt geben kann, um den Prozess zu archivieren, ihn wiederzugeben und neue Gesprächspartner anzusprechen. Es enthält verschiedene Inhalte: einen theoretischen Teil über den Ansatz, Anleitungen zur Wiederholung der Workshops und Fotos der Veranstaltung.

EN – The Atelier space of the Reggio Children Approach is a symbol of the hundred languages of children, a place of research and an expressive environment that promotes knowledge and creativity; the atelierista, very often a designer, is a figure who amalgamates new and multiple languages, just like during workshops, events that lead to collective learning. These are not and should not be lessons, but moments of development for those who hold them and for those who participate in them, identifying possibilities for experimentation through new didactics and allowing individual growth in a common environment. The thesis project developed from in-depth research on ateliers and workshops for children. The result of this research was firstly a methodological approach on workshops developed in three key points: space, materials and dynamics of interaction. Then, three visual communication workshops for children were created following the principles of the approach. These were brought together under the name “Warming Up Kids”, recalling both the technical gesture of warming up the body and the mind, and the concept of global warming for the environmental issues addressed in the workshops, and tested during a workshop event. Finally, to graphically return the experience of the event, in addition to graphical artefacts of each workshop, a book was created to give shape to the collective experience of the event, to archive the process, return it and address new interlocutors. It contains various contents: the theoretical part concerning the approach, instructions for replicating the workshops and photos of the event.
