Call when you get there! This sentence indicates the beginning of a journey, and “1000km” is intended to be a journey between two completely different parts of Italy. My journey begins in Mesagne, a town in Puglia in the province of Brindisi, and arrives in Bolzano, the main town of Alto Adige. These two cities are the only ones where I have lived in my life and they are approximately 1000km away from each other. Being located at opposite ends of the Italian peninsula, AltoAdige and Puglia have totally different cultures. This big difference can only lead to the creation of stereotypes by both areas of Italy. When I arrived in Bolzano I was able to see the truthfulness of some stereotypes regarding the AltoAdige and I was able to find myself in some stereotypes regarding the Apulians.
