Blank is designed for people who work in the care sector. The upholstered chair has an integrated pocket with an attached blanket that could be unfolded and used while sitting. Working at a health care facility can easily get hectic and overwhelming, so I wanted to create something to allow the nurses, etc. to shut off. The high sides of Blank allow workers to separate themselves from the surroundings and take the rest they need without distractions. As the atmosphere in health care facilities is usually very dull, systematic, and often too functional, I decided to break those variables while designing a chair for a break. So Blank is asymmetric, flowy, and welcoming. Other than that, the size, design language, and the colors of the Blank are chosen to give the user the feeling of wanting to sit in it, be hugged by the blanket, and empty their mind for a few minutes.
