Booklet – Directions to Servants
In my course of Typography and Graphics I have designed a booklet and done the illustrations for the satirical manual “Directions to Servants” written by Jonathan Swift. For the titles I have used an handwritten font realized by myself and edited later in digital. The illustrations are made using the technique of digital collage, adding small details in the style of the lettering used for the titles to make them even more fun.
The style I wanted to use is fun, pop and ironic, trying to respect the satirical theme of Jonathan Swift’s book and surprise the reader at the same time, who is probably expecting classic illustrations used for Victorian books.
