The Davos Sledge is the most commonly used sledge in the world and has never changed over the generations. This wooden sledge was originally intended for transporting goods through snow-covered villages. Its name dates back to the first historic sledge race of 1883 in Davos, Switzerland. The Davos sledge is 80 to 130 cm long and is traditionally made of ash wood, a very tough and elastic wood.
