For the 1970 FIFA World Cup in Mexico Eigil Nielsen designed the Telstar Durlast. The name was ispirated by the Telstar communications satellite that is similar to the ball. Its composition, consisting of 12 black pentagonal and 20 white hexagonal panels, is still an iconic and a symbol nowadays.
