Performance – dropping objects

Shoot the movie in a room with a ping- pong table. Stand at the left side of the table behind the net (from the players view). The actors position is 2 m away from the cam at the right edge of the table, facing to the opponents side. The cameras height is at the face of the player. The duration of the action is max. 20 sec. and the lights should be positioned like that: the brightest one in the background and the others on the ceiling.

The actor should wear a pyjama and a „Mr. Muerte“ cap. In his left pocket he has an egg box (2- sized), where a table tennis ball is inside. On the ping- pong table lies a ping- pong racket.

The action begins with a fast extension of the actors neck, so that the cap drops down. This sequence shows the actor on a closed-up view, facing the „Mr. Muerte“ writing of the cap. After that the camera zooms out, so that the net, the half ping-pong table and the upper body of the player is seen. Then the actor takes the egg box out of his pocket and takes the ball. He places the egg box on the edge of the ping-pong table, so that the box falls on the floor. After that dropping, a table tennis service is following. The service is conducted in a different range of motion, than expected: The actor strikes the ball not to the opponents side, but 90° to the right versus the wall. The ball shows the 3rd object to drop down on the floor.

During the performance the actor should not show any emotions and be quiet. His body should seem stiff and his feet never change the position on the ground. Also the cameraman is not changing his position, trying not to shake the camera.
