Evidence I deals with signs of wear on secondhand objects. Signs of wear, as testimonies of ownership, do not only involve the detrainment of the material constituting the object in question, but also remains of dirt, possible various human traces, and dust. The latter being rarely noticeable, are exposed by being removed from the surface of the object that is most in contact with the human body while being used.
Consequently, the objects become clean, and the remains of a prior passage are displayed as relics of time and usage.
