Why is this project called Fanciullino?

Pascoli in the famous pages of “Fanciullino” (1897), theorised his poetics of Fanciullino .To illustrate, the poet asserts that there is a child inside every individual. A ‘fanciullino’ who remains a child even when the person grows up and his voice rusts, even when he is older. The peculiarity of this figure looks at the world with astonishment, with auroral wonder, as if for the first time. Pascoli explains that Fanciullino considers beautiful and important even the small, humble, everyday, familiar element.
