Font Specimen – Stra Sans

This typeface is the result of a month long process. I started from an old Venetian character: Jenson. After having traced the midline and created so a skeleton of each letter I proceeded with the creation of an adequate set of brushes that gave different widths to each stroke. Mantaining a criterion between all the letters the fon came out balanced and well composed. I decided then to give a characteristic look to my typeface, making of it a sort of a dysplay font that could also work well in longer texts. The letters are quite thick, we could say it’s a bold version of the font. But the main characteristic of my typeface are the cuts, I applied them following a set of rules, measures and angles that I planned in advance.
