from CAD to reality

This assignment was about planning and sketching a vase as a 3D model on Rhino and building it out of aluminium afterwards.

The shiny material made me want to build a futuristic vase, so I went with a spiky shape that emphasizes its vertical axis. At first it was difficult to find a shape that doesn’t let the water for the flowers spill, but I solved this problem by adding smaller and smaller triangles. Except for the bottom part, all the aluminum pieces are triangular.
