Hellp to haven, not heaven

In June 2019, German captain Carola Rackete saved 40 refugees on a sea rescue action in the Mediterranean Sea. She entered the harbour of Lampedusa without permission because the situation was no longer bearable for the people on board. Rackete was then arrested by the Italian authorities after docking.

This graffiti artwork is dedicated to Carola Rackete who helped the refugees to reach the haven safely. A haven that wasn´t heaven. And they had to go through hell.
