My illustration was to represent what happened within the social sphere represented by state work during the fascist domination of the South Tyrolean territory. Represented is the town hall of Bolzano in front of the mayor, of obvious Italo-fascist features, who proposes a speech. Next to the man is the Italian flag adorned with the “fascist symbol” while the flag of South Tyrol. Still hoisted on the town hall, it is destroyed and worn out. During the time, many of the South Tyrolean state workers were fired to make room for the wave of Italian workers who emigrated to South Tyrol during the fascist period.
