My Portfolio for the Interior & Exhibit course begins with a personal presentation and then enters the heart of the Decamerette project. I investigated my domestic space by drawing my “Small pleasures of life”, analyzing the “geography of my table”, representing my daily routine through the floor plan of my apartment, as well as observing the shadows produced by light during the different hours of the day. For Musée Domino, I created a dense atlas of references on a theme of my choice: the shadow as a concrete presence. The theme was then developed into a hypothetical exhibition entitled “L’ombra. La sua messa in luce”. The exhibition is turned into a stage, a “white box”, with the appearance of a convivial home. It is here that the shadow is brought to light as a substantial element of the work and which, in turn, highlights meanings and interpretations in its role as the protagonist capable of contextualizing this space. It is dark, powerful, sharp, imprinted in the white cement of the floor. It is capable of coming into contact with the personal elements that characterize the life of that space and gives them a “clear” connotation. It is the active factor that sets the exhibition in motion, while the minds of its visitors are called upon to interpret its contextualizations, to read its “highlighted” suggestions.
