The project started with the research of two objects that could be combined and compatible with each other while maintaining their functionality.
The shape is reminiscent of a classic Japanese katana to recall the concept of linear extraction and strict purity. To accentuate the smooth extraction and closure sensation, the three pieces are joined by four pairs of magnets at each contact point.
The wood chosen was ebony, not only for its quality and hardness, but also because aesthetically it creates a nice contrast with the stainless steel that highlights the junction points.
