Plants are superheros. They are not only allowing us and countless other living beings to breathe and thrive through the miraculous process of photosynthesis. With their foliage, they provide shade, reducing heat absorption and helping to cool the planet. With that in mind, I was wondering how to
incorporate these beautiful beings more in our everyday-lives, where they are needed and how we can use their way of functioning to our advantage and make our world more sustainable. One of the easiest ways to be more green is to use the public transport. And since there is always a waiting time, I found my  perfect spot and idea for this final assignment: The bus station.

Inspired by the photosynthesis and its’ unbelievable power to transform light into energy, I put two solar panels on the roof which store this energy, so that in the evening it can be used to produce light. The leaf is providing shade and since the roof is white, it reflects the sunrays for
ultimate cooling. On top of it, it also provides protection from the rain and has with its’ shape also a hole where the stem and leaf are merged together; the stem is a pipe, so when it rains, the water goes through the hole and pipe, directly to the culverts.  Last but not least  we have the bench which leg is directly coming out from the stem. The shape of the bench itself is inspired from the chinese money plant, because of its’ vast leaf.

Needless to say, the object can not only be used for bus stations, but can also be located in parcs and be used as a normal bench for
relaxation.
