Letter to my Mexican friend, Viridiana is a work that was born with the intention to present an artist to the class in a different way. For this reason I decided to send a letter where I explain about the columbian artist Doris Salcedo and also some notes that I made myself, to my Mexican friend. The choice of this friend of mine is not casual, she lives in an environment really similar to the one Doris Salcedo comes from, which deeply influenced her art.

In particular, she told me about this time she was at the gym and five men came into the building with guns and started to yell to everyone to lie on the floor and cover their eyes. After that they found the gym instructor, started beating him up and then cut his head off. The bleeding body was left at the gym while the head was then found in the middle of the highway.

The reason why they killed this man was because he was involved with a drug cartel.
