the Motorola DynaTAC 8000X is the first commercial portable cellular phone which received approval from the U.S. Federal Communications Commission on September 21, 1983. Martin Cooper, father of the cellphone, led the team that build the DynaTAC 8000X at Motorola Inc. and started a whole new way of life. The phone was priced at $3,995 and weighted about 800g.
