The book is inspired by the song “New Shoes” by Paolo Nutini. The song is a metaphor to tell about the contrast between past and present or future life.
In the past the character had bad shoes and his life was boring, sad and full of problems, so the illustrations are black, the paper used is organic and dirty and the only font used is the Times New Roman since is the most common one.
Then after putting on his “New shoes” the character’s life changes, everything becomes colorful and full of positive vibes. He begins to appreciate life and realizes that sometimes it takes very little to change things. Here is used a glossy paper and I’ve played with colourful illustrations and original fonts.
