“Prinz Eisenherz” is a tall and narrow waste bin designed for Bolzano Station (plastic, paper, residual, and cigarette waste), making use of the vertical space by stacking (re)moveable and rotatable internal compartments to facilitate both user and service staff interaction with the object, while adapting to the narrow platform space it inhabits.

The goal of Prinz Eisenherz is to present the different choices of waste disposal as clearly as possible like an info board.

The "M" shape deters smokers from extinguishing their cigarettes on the roof of the object.

The doors can be opened from the sides.

Even though Prinz Eisenherz is a tall object, you can still perceive the other side of the platform when interacting with it.

The upper paper container can be pulled out and then rotated outwards for easy emptying of the content straight into the trolley, with or without plastic bag.

The cigarette waste can either be directly emptied into the residual waste container below, or collected separately for cigarette filter recycling.

The two bottom containers stand freely inside Prinz Eisenherz and can easily be taken out and lifted to be emptied directly into a trolley.
