Signs of Consumption is an ongoing sculptural series examining the relationship between a certain degree of urban authority and its communicative apparatuses. More specifically, the piece is constituted by legislatively dismissed traffic signals, whose surface has been scraped away by the artist.

By appropriating and depriving the signals from their symbolic indices, the artist activates the found objects abstracting their previous meaning and transforming them into new visual signs.

Furthermore, by investigating the strict relationship in between authoritative bodies and their presence in the urban context, the work underlines the reciprocal consumptive relationship between one and higher bodies of order.
