Smart Working

Performance, 30’;
Laptop, round table.
This performative act, delegated to the OS of the machine, takes on the laborious task – as it was precisely instructed in advance – to render, through the help of a 3D-software, an indefinite amount of images of egg shapes, which will then be almost immediately deleted. Towards the end of the performance, the OS will shut itself down putting an end to its work.
The subject of the pictures comes from the research and findings, published on 23 August 2021 in the article “Egg and math: introducing a universal formula for egg shape”, by Valeriy G. Narushin, Michael N. Romanov and Derren K. Griffin, and is a visual exploration, translation and application of the formula proposed by the afore mentioned researchers. The formula – and its variables – is in its 3D application bound to time and randomness, making each rendered image unpredictable and unique.
