Soul cell

The meaning of the title has many conceptual possibilities. As the cell can be the beginning of

live itself and functions as a protection and a demarcation that makes a growth possible until

from the cell something bigger grows. A cell can also be a separated room from the external

reality. On the one hand for prisoners who cannot move outside the cell. On the other hand, a cell

can also be a space for monks and spiritual introversion. A space that is consciously taken in

order to leave it again as something new and expanded.

The transparent textile visualizes three layers, three dimensions (BODY, MIND, SOUL) that are

longing to move through space in a shared lightness. The three layers are overlapping and

interconnecting themselves but still exist on different planes. Together they are bound to a frame.

The components of this attachment are fragile and inconspicuous. Yet the conjunction of the

attaching strings from the 3 layers/ Transparent textile) to the frame, composes a stable and

strong connection. The frame, which is build together out of branches, that formed the oval form

that reminds me of the form of a cell, participates as something strangely different and somewhat

different nature, but in the reflection it turns out to be a product of the beeing itself. Stagnation of

energy and visions, external impulses and extremely strong manipulations of beleifs and

impulses deform the soul and lead to belief systems and thought patterns that toxificates the

mind. Ultimately affecting our own actions and seem to take away the freedom of choice itself.

It was accepted, built u stabilized by by extremely complex forces and is now a orientation of our

collective reality. The complaining of the lack of freedom only exists with the frame and vise

versa. They exist in parallel and find their justification in themselves. The frame turns out to be

man made by eah individual as a consequence of a collective deep programming. Soul cell

offers a visualization of this reflection.

It is not a creation that illustrates the act of liberation the being but more of the realization the

illusionary and fragile existence of the self build and self manipulating frame. Instead of

breaking and destroying it, it will be accepted, respected and exploited.
