Stand Chair

My intention was to approach the action of sitting in a different way without being influenced by everything that already exists, to design a chair starting from the body. In fact, our body is not created to sit, but to maintain an upright posture. The sitting position overloads the column much more than the upright position and this is the reason of many posture problems our society. This chair with an essential appearance is composed of two horizontal padded cylinders supported by a steel tube structure.
It is a passive vertical chair, vertical because the position assumed by the body is upright and passive because it allows the body to unload all the weights through the two points of support. The spine is therefore forced to assume an upright position, both for the fact that you are already standing, and for the fact that you are unbalanced forward and therefore the body to self-balance is forced to maintain an upright position.
Another central feature of the project is the multi-use, in fact there are several possible ways to interact with the seat. It is actually a module that allows each person to interact in a different way also according to their needs.
The mechanism for height adjustment that I have developed has the function of adapting the seat to the various heights of people.
