The Model 302 Telephone was designed by Henry Dreyfuss in 1937. It was the first and one of the most widely used American telephones without a separately mounted subset box. This “combined telephone” packed its circuitry, ringer, and anti-sidetone hardware into the phone’s central housing unit, reducing the telephone to a single device.
This presentation contains the story behind the realization of this famous telephone, drawings, projections, perspectives and sketches, and some information about Henry Dreyfuss.
