“The sculpture is already complete within the marble block before i start my work. It is already there, all I have to do is chisel away the superfluous material”
Michelangelo Buonarroti
In this series of works, the marble blocks assume the aspect of flowers. With the use of a surgical cutter, the author has researched the work of art that lied within every envelope, giving life to a series of sculptures discovered inside their vital cocoon. The blade has divided the body of the flower in two halves, revealing by doing so the intricate internal apparate of the plant. The organs, spreading in peculiar fantasies, are a sculpture, sleeping within its block of matter, waiting to be chiselled.
