The interpretation of Hysteria started with the study of Hysteria which in the 19th and 20th century was considered a disease. The uterus was thought to be the woman’s evil, and it wandered endlessly in her body and made her hysterical. Hysteria is one of the many labels still stick to the femaale gender. A legacy that comes from long ago: Hysteria was the first mental disorder attributed exclusively to women. Even today, this word is brought up daily when women rebel against an order, contest, raise their voice. Or as a synonym for frigid, sexually dissatisfied. On the other hand, it is about a specific disease whose origin and history is unknown to many people.

The project presents eight photographs of women and men to see the perceptions of both sexes since it has always been regarded as a female condition. Each person listened to a text that explained the disease in detail. They were photograph alone in an empty room, letting them represent the concept in their way and putting them in a position of being hysterical and catching different interpretations. The result led to a theatrical representation of Hysteria.
