The Juicy Salif

Drawings, thoughts and research about the ‘most controversial lemon squeezer of our times’ (Alberto Alessi) : the Juicy Salif.

It is designed in 1988 by Philippe Starck and produced by the Italian company Alessi in 1990. Over the years it became a true icon thanks to its controversial and futuristic appearance. It is more a sculpture than a lemons squeezer and as Philippe Stark himself says ‘it is not for squeezing lemons but to create conversations’.
