The Musicassette – Creative upcycling of waste

“What if we reduce waste by intangible upcycling?”

“The Musicassette” is a systematic design project which revalues disused products in a tangible and intangible way. Is suggesting an alternative way of production, upcycling discarded objects and empower emotional attachment.

Based on the model of sharing economy the project aims to produce a community archive where people donate cassette and the memories connected to them. Nostalgic, Joyful, Melancholy memories or even of Rebellion, these are the four categories that will cluster music in a new form. The project will also affect the consumption and production by offering information about the music industries and suggestion to become a more aware consumer.
