Theta – Composable plate

This project started with the idea of using only semi-finished materials, then we thought about a scenario for our products; we decided to do a picnic that we actually did at Talvera park.

I made composable plates starting from a square. After many tries I finally developed the final shape which I created by rounding the corners and making a cut in one of the sides of the plate. I wanted to keep it simple with not so many movements, that’s why it’s only one movement that folds the plate into a conical shape. The materials are polystyrene and rubber, which were useful to create a plate that can move and not break, the rubber is used to isolate the plate and make it waterproof.

Its dimensions are 22 cm x 22 cm x 1.5 mm when it’s flat.
