Una Giornata In Gabbia
BA Visual Communication Project
2021
semester
Description
The book has the title ‘Una giornata in gabbia’ and refers to the everyday life of an unclassified person during the time of the lockdown. The person is visibly constrained in its movement, implying the existence of a cage. Throughout the pages, the protagonist lives through a certain set of actions, which represent their day, for instance brushing teeth and eating lunch. Each page adds one action and therefore object to the room, in the stated example it would be the toothbrush and dirty plates. This results in an additional clustering and caging of the person by its very own products and actions.
Goal of the Project
I wanted to show how both the external and forced cage, represented through the page margin, and the internal cage, which has been created through the various objects, can affect our physical and mental spacial perception. The book shows how our room or house slowly became a non-tactile cage for all of us.
The project has been developed under the topic “Normality” in the course “Il Corpo non mente”.
