Welcoming monument

The main issue of my idea is migration. My parents like thousands other armenians were migrants, they left their home because of collapse of Soviet Union, war and unstable economic situation. Likewise, Armenian government was totally corrupt, which was the main reason to leave. As a result, during 30 years more than half million people have left Armenia. Fortunately, after the last year revolution the government was changed. This gives people a chance to have a safe and good life at their home, the most of them think about to come back to Armenia. And the main goal of the new government is to welcome people back.

The difference between monument and welcoming monument is the relationship with people. If in the ordinary understanding of the monument it is almost always inaccessible and untouchable then the welcoming monument exists on an equal footing with the person. The human is the main figure, welcoming monument exists only with him. Welcoming monument creates a certain specific atmosphere of the importance of human presence here and now. Welcoming monument will be located in the airport Zvartnoc, in the arrivals area. It will make the moment of the first entry in Armenia memorable and significant for the arrivals.
